Asian Development Bank (ADB) Accountability Mechanism
The ADB's Accountability Mechanism provides a forum where persons adversely affected by ADB-assisted projects can report problems and alleged noncompliance with ADB operational policies and procedures. It consists of, firstly, the problem solving function and then the compliance review function. The problem solving function focuses on finding satisfactory solutions to problems caused by ADB projects. The compliance review function, executed by the independent Compliance Review Panel (CRP), focuses on ADB's accountability regarding whether it has or has not complied with its operational policies and procedures. After its investigation, the CRP then monitors the implementation of any recommendations that it makes and any remedial actions approved by the ADB Board of Directors.
