World Bank Inspection Panel

The Inspection Panel is an independent complaints mechanism for people and communities who believe that they have been, or are likely to be, adversely affected by a World Bank-funded project (specifically the International Bank for Reconstruction and the Development and International Development Association). It is an impartial, independent fact-finding body that reports to the Board of Executive Directors of the World Bank. In response to complaints, the Inspection Panel investigates the allegations, reviews the project, evaluates whether the Bank followed its operational policies and procedures, and makes recommendations to the Executive Directors.
